( 3 April to 26 May ) IPL Auction - Who Went Where

This year IPL auction like the previous year’s threw its shares of surprise –some expected, some unexpected. Will the players be able to live to the expectations of their franchisees? Only time will tell.

Just like the IPL matches, the IPL auction is another event which gives the same high to the cricket fans as just its games. Held along the lines of the English premier league, the IPL auction which is held at-least a month or two before the much awaited games begin sees players being sold to the highest bidders has always been a see saw event where lesser known players are snatched for a high price while known players are known to have been left behind.

Winners & Losers of IPL Auction

Always a bag of surprise and often a case of heated discussions amongst the connoisseurs of the game, this year IPL auction is no different.  Just like its previous avatars, the 2013 IPL auction has lived up to its unpredictability.  While known players like Michael Clarke and Ricky Pointing went for a price of $800000 in between them, a relatively unknown player like Glen Maxwell has hit the jackpot with $1 million as did  players like Ajantha Mendis, Abhishek Nayyar and Kane Richardson who went for $ 675000-725000 in between them.  However, the biggest story which has got cricket pundits taking about is the presence of two giants of today’s cricketing world –Ricky Pointing and Sachin Tendulkar -both of whom will be playing for the same team-the Mumbai Indians! How much magic they both can create is something which people are eagerly waiting for as are the various franchisees who, too are waiting to see if the players they had bid for do justice for the price they had paid for.
Auction over, Now wait for the live action

So, if you want to catch these players in action, we suggest that you book your accommodation in the various service and holiday apartments located near the match venues well in advance to avoid disappointment for you can be sure that the stadiums will be full with fans coming from within the country & abroad.
