Where to catch the action of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013

The last and final edition of the 7th ICC Champions Trophy is just round the corner and fans from all over the globe are making a beeline to Cardiff, Birmingham and London to support their teams and see their cricketing idols in live action.

The Cricketing Stadiums

A relatively smaller tournament c006Fmpared to the T20 and the Cricket World Cup, the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 will see only 15 matches being played by eight of the top ODI teams at 3 relatively well known cricketing stadiums:

·    Sophia Gardens, Cardiff – The home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Sophia Gardens claim to fame lie it being the venue where Australians were defeated by the Bangladeshis in 2005.

·   Edgbaston, Birmingham – The second largest cricketing venue after Lords in the UK that can accommodate around 21000 fans, Edgbaston also happens to be home ground of the Warwickshire Cricket team and the venue where Brian Lara’s scored his world record 501 and where Australia tied with South Africa during the famous 1999 Cricket World Cup semi final considered by many as the greatest in ODI in history.
·         The Kennington Oval, London- One of the famous cricketing grounds of UK; this is where it all began. Oval was the venue of the first ever test in England; where the legend of Ashes was born; where Bradman made his most famous duck and much more firsts. The stadium was established way back in 1875 and has a capacity of 23500. 




Teams & Match Dates

Teams participating in the tournament have been divided into 2 groups of four teams each. The opening match is schedule to be played at Cardiff on June 6th with finals set for June 26th at Birmingham.

Group B: India, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies 
Group AAustralia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka
