Wimbledon Championship 2013

With the French Open almost coming to an end, tennis fan from all over the world are now focusing on the next mega grand slam tournament of the year – The Wimbledon Championship.  Starting from 24 June and lasting for about two weeks, the championship will see players from over 60 countries using their aces, backhands and forehands for the ultimate prize in tennis history- The Championship.

One of the oldest and prestigious tennis tournaments, The Wimbledon Championship All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club is famous for sticking to its numerous traditions which in turn has given the tournament a distinct character.  All white attire, strawberries and creams, bananas for the players, the royal box and yes even the rains are what make tennis at Wimbledon extra special.

Match Dates and Prize Money

This year ‘The Championship’ will as per tradition will on Monday, the 24th June ad will go o for two weeks culminating with the Gentleman finals on Sunday, the 7th July. A total of £22,560,000 in prize money is at stake for competitors participating at The Championships, 2013 with both Gentlemen's and Ladies' Singles Champions set to receive £1,600,000 each.
